Interested in becoming a Board Member?
Requirements:
- Current resident of Scott Township (or a member of an adjacent community that does not have a library)
- 18 years of age or older
- Terms are 3 years; for a maximum of 8 consecutive years
Responsibilities:
- Attend 9-10 meetings per year – meetings are usually held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm
- Ensure the Library’s financial stability through donation and budget review; annually present budget plans to Township Commissioners
- Plan, promote, and attend Board sponsored fundraising initiatives
- Provide guidance to library policy
- Promote library programs and resources
- Support the American Library Association’s “Library Bill of Rights” and “Freedom to Read Statement”
- Love Your Library!
Review Process:
- Applications will be reviewed by the current Library Board
- Recommendations will be made to the Township Board of Commissioners
- Township Commissioners will approve appointments to the Library Board
